You will arrive in Torino (Turin) today and have a half day tour in the afternoon. Torino is the capital of Piedmonte in Northern Italy and is known for its architecture as well as delicious truffles and chocolate. The dramatic backdrop to the city are the Alps. Dinner will be included.

SCARPE COMODE (Comfortable Shoes) Full day - We will visit Coazzolo to see the chiesetta (little church) and view the astonishing fresco’s by British painter David Tremlett. We will then go a little further to visit La Vigna dei Pastelli (the vineyard of pastels), This vineyard offers the opportunity to admire the artist Michele Pistoletto’s installation of a row of giant and colored pastels that are at the beginning of each row on the apex of the Coazzolo hill. Then we will visit Alba, known for its white truffles. Lunch will be included

Half-Day - You will have the morning to yourself to explore or relax, maybe you would like to visit the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) or the Egyptian museum or even the Shroud (Sindone) In the afternoon we will take a tour of the Torino's caffe to taste gelato, coffee,vermouth and we end the tour with an apericena (light dinner)

This area is located in wine country and known as Langhe. La Morra is a place to relax thanks to its beautiful position on the top of a hill. Barolo is famous for the Barolo wine and is often called the king of wine. Barolo not only has wine, but also beautiful scenery, ancient castles and good food. We will have lunch and wine tasting here.

In the morning we will go to visit The Sacra di San Michele, an ancient abbey situated on the top of Mount Pirchiriano. This is a place that inspired Umberto Eco for his book “In the Name of the Rose”. Lunch will be included. You will have your afternoon free to explore or relax. Dinner on your own

We will leave Torino and arrive in Genova for a tour. Then travel on to Santa Margherita where we will check in to our next hotel and have dinner together there.

We will travel to the beautiful Cinque Terre - a string of five century-old fishing villages with their colorful houses, wineries, and gorgeous hiking trails, they are a must see.

In the morning we will travel to Portofino, a fishing village on the Italian Riviera Coastline. We will explore a little and then have a lesson in Pesto making.

We will travel to La Spezia, a port city in Liguria. We will then go to Portovenere, a Riviera gem overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. It is often referred to as the Cinque Terre’s 6th town. We will end our day by visiting Lerici, another breathtaking town on the Italian Riviera. It is known as the place where the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley drowned.

You will have your last day in Italy to explore on your own.

You will get to the Milan airport on your own and travel back to USA
